Sanjiv Kaul brings a track record of understanding emerging customer needs and leading teams to build products that become market leaders. In his 30-year career, he has been attracted to entrepreneurial opportunities at both large public corporations and startups. Sanjiv was the Sr. VP & GM at Synopsys where he was responsible for leveraging their RTL synthesis franchise and expanding it to RTL to GDS II. Some of his other roles have included CEO at Velogix, VP Marketing and Sales at Frontline, and marketing management positions at Cadence, Valid and Daisy Systems. Sanjiv has a BSEE from the University of Maryland and a B.Sc. from Delhi University.
Before joining Calypto, Chris was the vice president of Finance, corporate controller and acting CFO for Ubicom, Inc., a networking and multimedia semiconductor start up. Prior to his position at Ubicom, Chris was director of finance and senior manager of corporate planning at Xilinx. Prior to Xilinx Chris held executive positions in finance at Optimize, Informix Software, Quantum and IBM. Chris earned a BA in economics and computer science from Colgate University and an MBA in finance and accounting from Columbia University Graduate School of Business.
Vice President of Marketing
Shawn McCloud has over 25 years of industry experience in ASIC and ESL design flows. Early in his career, Shawn worked for Motorola as a senior system architect responsible for RISC and CISC based microprocessor design. While at Mentor Graphics, he held senior management positions in technical and product marketing before eventually taking over the High Level Synthesis (HLS) team in 2001 as product line director. Under Shawn’s leadership, the Catapult C high-level synthesis tool was launched and grew to over 50% market share. Shawn has extensive experience in ESL and HLS methodologies and market segmentation strategies, and manages with a tight focus on business objectives and strategies. Shawn received his B.S. degree in electrical and computer engineering from Case Western Reserve University.
Vice President of Worldwide Sales
Greg Orzech has over 30 years of progressively responsible experience in the electronics industry. In his most recent role, Greg was the vice president of Worldwide Field Operations for Intrinsity’s semiconductor technology and services organization. Over his career Greg has worked in a broad range of Sales functions. In these roles, Greg has demonstrated the ability to lead a team to meet or exceed sales goals, and delivered consistent growth in company revenue. Greg also has a proven track record of successfully implementing new business models where customer engagement and strategic partner alignment is critical. Greg received his B.S. degree in mechanical engineering from Michigan Technological University.
Vice President of Engineering
Nikhil Sharma is a veteran in the electronics industry with a reputation for solving some of the toughest problems in the functional verification space. Prior to his role as VP of Engineering, Nikhil led the engineering team for Calypto’s sequential logic equivalency checking tool, a tool based on Calypto's patented sequential analysis technology. Prior to Calypto, Nikhil worked on the Synopsys hybrid formal verification tool, Magellan, and Synopsys' cycle-event simulation simulator. Nikhil holds a Bachelor of Technology in Electrical Engineering from the Indian Institute of Technology, New Delhi and an MS in Computer Engineering from the University of Wisconsin-Madison.
Vice President & Managing Director, Calypto Design Systems India Private Limited
Sanjiv brings a strong track record of management and technical leadership to Calypto. Prior to Calypto, Sanjiv was a senior architect at Cadence Design Systems, where he was responsible for managing the technology direction, customer interaction, as well as managing the product development and the validation teams for the BuildGates synthesis product. Sanjiv has previously worked in Ambit Design Systems and Viewlogic Systems where he architected system design and synthesis related products. Sanjiv received a Bachelor of Technology in Computer Science and Engineering from the Indian Institute of Technology, India. As a Chancellor's Fellow, he received M.S. and Ph.D. degrees in Computer Science at the University of California, Irvine. He is the co-author of the book "Specification & Design of Embedded Systems". He has served as a Guest Editor for IEEE Transactions on VLSI Systems and the ACM Transactions on Design Automation of Electronic Systems.
President, Calypto Design Systems, K.K.
Mr. Suzuki has a long track record of successfully representing and leading EDA companies in the Japanese market. Prior to joining Calypto, he served as executive advisor, leading the Japanese business for Cadence and Get2Chip, Inc. He was a founder, CEO and executive advisor for the SC Hightech Corporation, and at Sumisho Electron Devices. During this time, he built the Japanese presence of multiple EDA companies including: Ambit, Chrysalis, Gateway, Magma, Simplex, and Synopsys. He has also served in senior management positions within the Sumitomo Corporation in both Japan and the United States.
Vice President of Application Engineering
Thomas Bollaert is seasoned EDA professional with a proven track record of helping top electronic companies worldwide move through strategic methodology changes to increase competitiveness. Before joining Calypto, Thomas was the product marketing manager for Mentor’s high-level synthesis group, successfully growing the Catapult C product line to the number one position in a couple of years. Prior to that, Thomas held various positions in technical sales and product marketing at Mentor Graphics, Summit Design, Innoveda and Cadence Design Systems where he developed considerable experience in RTL and ESL design flows. Thomas received his master degree in electronic engineering from ESIEE Paris, where he specialized in DSP, digital IC design and embedded systems architectures.
